PROJECT DARE TO DREAM

Project Dare to Dream was launched in August of 2019 with the intent of finding a creative way to expose students to different careers. Our goal for this project was not only to create the best and most unique career pathways program in the market, but to also kindle a true passion for career education in the hearts of our students.

Dare to Dream consists of three different career workshops:
engineering, medical, and business. Each workshop entails a series of engaging and informative activities designed to instill curiosity and passion and help students build soft skills (such as communication, teamwork, and critical thinking) in the process.

ENGINEERING WORKSHOP

The engineering workshop consists of tactile civil, electrical, biomedical, and mechanical engineering projects. Additionally, our engineering workshop contains elements of computer science, coding, and artificial intelligence. Students had the opportunity to build their own circuits, create their own code, and build and test their own bridges.

One of the students’ favorite activities was building a smart trash can, in which students combined their knowledge of coding, Arduino, and biomedical engineering to construct automatic trash cans.

MEDICAL WORKSHOP

The medical team administers their workshop with the help of Dr. Anton Scheepers, founder and CEO of Apprentice Doctor. The medical workshop consists of a number of interactive and experiential activities, including sheep brain dissections, heart dissections, bandaging mock bleeding arm kits, and other activities.

Noorishment’s interactive methods allow students to feel like real medical professionals by having them run medical procedures in a simulated environment.

BUSINESS WORKSHOP

The business workshop consists of lessons on marketing, supply chain, and finance. Like the other two workshops, the goal of business is to give kids an effective approach to learning the lifecycle of a business through product development, market introduction, and data management tools.

Students learn about the various aspects of business through case study simulations and competitions. Noorishment allows students to learn through hands-on projects — instilling within them an entrepreneurial spirit.
